a couple of weeks ago i went to a fabric screen-printing class at koskela, run by the lovely ladies from prints charming. it was such a fun afternoon! they taught us how to make our own stencils using paper cuts, and to use the screen and squeegy to get the stencils onto fabric. each stencil is printed individually, and repeated as many times as you like – then dried with a hairdryer before starting the next colour.
all of the gorgeous prints charming fabric designs are created with this hands-on technique, i think it’s kind of amazing!!
everyone in the class made their own design – here is my fabric. couldn’t resist the neon paint…
